Dear Lasallians,

We have spent the last forty days together praying for courage not to become indifferent to the growing culture of death and violence that plagues our country today.   This atmosphere that breeds this lack of respect for life we can see on many fronts.

In response to the invitation of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) and as part of our advocacy against EJK, respect for human right and democracy, I wish to enjoin our school communities to participate actively in the “Lord Heal Our Land Sunday” on 5 November 2017.

First Reflection: The Readings – from Lamentations to Curses

The Babylonian Exile is one of the most painful chapters in the history of the Jewish people. It lasted for 70 years when King Nebuchadnezzar held Israel captive in Babylon. The reading describes the prayer of lamentations of the high priest. Take note before the exile, the prophets like Jeremiah and Ezekiel warned of the imminent danger of defeat and exile. Yet Israel did not heed the call to change.
